This is not a real school. It is an over priced daycare center. The children that have left this school are academically behind their public school peers, and often have to repeat a grade of school. Children are bullied not only by their peers but by the staff as well. Only select parents are able to observe as they please and if you are not a favored family they try to keep you out of the school as much as possible. Their way of teaching is for the teacher to sit in the corner reading a book or playing on cell phones while the kids "self learn" by drawing and coloring. If you are looking for a cult like atmosphere or an expensive place to dump your child for the day this is the place for you.

This school is a welcoming community for our family. I know that I can be as involved as I desire, and am always invited and encouraged to come observe in every classroom. My children are treated with respect, dignity, and as individuals. This is the only school I've found which provides a wonderful and supportive series of Parent Education classes throughout the school year. All of teachers are Montessori trained, and are truly inspired by the Montessori philosophy. This comes through in the ways all of the children are spoken to, encouraged, and guided throughout the day. My children are in preschool now, yet I look forward to years of growth and transformation as they continue at this school all the way up through the eighth grade!

This is a terrible school. My kids were bullied by other kids in the school. When I went to talk to the teacher, the teacher said it is there policy to let the kids handled it themselves. The teacher said my 3 year old should tell the other kids to stop hitting her and that it hurts. The school didn't do anything to stop it. Not to mentioned, the school is in violation of many laws. According to the law, the preschool age kids are suppose to be under supervision at all time and the maximum teacher student ratio is 1 teacher for every 10 kids. On a lot of days, there are only one teacher looking after 30-40 kids in the play area. Also according to the law, dangerous areas are suppose to be fenced in. The play area isn't even though it is on a major street. Kids there doesn't learn any but to play. The teachers are nazis in not letting you see your kids during the school hours. They stop you from going inside the classroom to see your kids which is against the law.

Montessori In The Woods is a true Montessori school - totally committed to applying the philosophy of Maria Montessori to the education of children AND whole families. I know that their approach to education will serve my children 1000x better than any standardized exam ever could.
