Provided by DexKnowsI have been a patient of Dr. Contreras for a while now and he and his staff have always made me comfortable. I often joked about being an "annuity" for a dermatologist so they had better take good care of me as I have had multiple skin cancers as well as a chronic skin condition. A recent biopsy on a small lesion on my nose was identified as a basal cell carcinoma. Unfortunately, I had undergone MOHS surgery in another practice a couple of years earlier in the exact location and this was a recurrent tumor. Dr. Contreras referred me to his partner at About Skin, Dr. Joel Cohen for MOHS. I met Dr.Cohen in early summer and together, we discussed the diagnosis, treatment and outcome and most importantly agreed upon a timeline that would allow me to enjoy the majority of my summer in the pool with the grandkids.About 10 days ago I had the surgery done in the Swedish Medical Office building location. The procedure was scheduled later in the day and ended up being there for close to 5 hours due to the fact that it required four excisions before he could come to me with confidence stating that the margins were clear on any sign of tumor. Now the fun began as I had a significant hole in my nose and thought to myself no way can he bring this thing together without a skin graft. Dr. Cohen was fantastic and truly an artist in reconstructing my nose. I initially had a significant amount of swelling and bruising but less than 2 weeks later after having my sutures removed I am amazed at how good my nose looks and NO SKIN GRAFT!I want to thank Dr. Cohen and his staff for there fantastic care. Maria, your administration of my local anesthetic was the best ever you have quite a touch and Michael, your willingness to explain everything and deliver post-op instructions was the best. All in all I want to say that I believe I have found my comfort zone in the derm community with About Skin Dermatology and I want to thank both Dr. Contreras and Dr. Cohen for their most excellent care and a special thanks to the back office team for their supporting role!

Provided by DexKnowsI had a large basal cell carcinoma, and Dr. Cohen removed it and I followed up with several visits to ensure the progress of healing. Dr. Cohen is a fabulous doctor. I won't hesitate going back to him in the future. His office staff and nurses are also extremely good -- professional, caring, and efficient. Dr. Cohen is the best in town.

Provided by DexKnowsI have been a patient at AboutSkin for about 7 years. I always find Dr. Cohen to be complete and very smart. I enjoy also learning about some of the cosmetic procedures they offer....because when I decide to do something like that, I would rather have it done here, as Dr. Cohen is an expert in many of these procedures, and lectures around the world and is even writing a textbook right now about Botox. I feel very confident in my dermatology care here.

Provided by DexKnowsI recently had my skin checked at AboutSkin. I had to wait a few minutes in the waiting room, but I felt that they spent a lot of time with me, and it justified the short delay. My skin was completely checked, even in my hair. While they do sell some products there, it is not overwhelming. I did purchase a sunscreen that was essentially the same price that it is in the market...but way more convenient.

Provided by DexKnowsThis place is by far the most unprofessional doctors office I have ever been to. The staff is extremely rude and uncompotent. My first visit I was five minutes late and told I would have to reschedule. My second visit I sat there waiting for two hours. When I finally did get to talk to Dr. Clair she stared at her watch the whole time and payed me no attention. The office then totally overcharged me. After 10 phone calls to the office manager-none of which returned I finally got a hold of the manager who has a terrible attitude and informed me she didnt want to deal with my problem. I will never be going back to this office and want to warn anyone thinking of going there you will be met with a giant headache when dealing with them.

Provided by DexKnowsPerhaps this is the place for you if you would like to have Botox, skin peels, laser treatments, or any other kind of elective unnecessary procedures. If, however, you have skin cancer and want to be an active participant in your care STAY AWAY. The staff does not take kindly to being questioned, are rude, and not at all compassionate. They are forever trying to sell you Moh's surgery, which must be highly billable and profitable for them. I am one of the patients whose care fell through the cracks in regards to calling with results, providing referrals, returning phone calls, etc., and instead of being apologetic they are angry at me when I get angry at their lack of care. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!

Provided by DexKnowsI saw Dr. Szabo for the first time this morning in her new office in Highlands Ranch, CO. She was very kind and gentle. She was not rushed and listened to what I had to say. I did not feel bashful about asking her questions as she put me at ease. Her assistant was just as great. I will definitely keep her as my dermatologist!
