The group operates through its wholly owned subsidiary, East Carolina Bank. The group's operations are primarily retail oriented and directed toward individuals, small and medium-sized businesses and local governmental units located in its banking markets. It provides construction loans, residential, commercial real estate, consumer instalment, credit card, agricultural, commercial and industrial loans. It accepts deposit accounts that include business and individual checking accounts, savings accounts, NOW accounts, certificates of deposit and money market checking accounts.
