- Dental ExaminationOur Dental Services If you are looking for a Glendale or Encino dentist that can prevent infections, treat them, and beautifully restore or transform your smile – we offer all of those solutions as part of our dental work. If you live or work near the 91436 area, we invite you to call 818-285-0528 and schedule an appointment. During your initial examination, we will inspect your teeth and gums to determine if there are any cavities or if an infection is present. Early detection is important because it allows us to provide treatment before you experience any discomfort. Unlike other physical ailments that may not manifest until you are in pain, oral health problems show signs along the way and as a dentist when we see those signs we can prevent you from getting a full-blown infection by providing early treatment. For this reason, we recommend that you schedule a dental exam for twice a year. In addition to examining and cleaning your teeth, we offer

- Fluoride TreatmentIf you live in California, it is important to understand the reason that teeth become sensitive. Very often, it is due to the enamel on the outside of the teeth wearing away. Enamel can wear away due to age, what you eat and improper oral health care. While brushing with desensitizing toothpaste can help, you need to continue visiting the dentist to ensure that your teeth and gums stay healthy. Otherwise, the sensitivity can increase. During your dental exam, let us know about the discomfort you have been feeling so that we can discuss ways to reduce it by using methods such as a fluoride treatment or sealant.

If you want to learn more about dental veneers, we recommend that you call (818)-285-0528 to schedule an appointment. - CrownsA dental crown is a cap that surrounds the tooth. Dr. Gevik Marcarian will typically use a crown to restore a tooth that has been damaged, but they can also be used for cosmetic purposes in order to improve the appearance of a smile. A crown can be made in three different materials, all-metal, ceramic-on-metal, and all-ceramic. Where the crown is located will determine the best material to use. For example, front teeth should have an all-ceramic crown, if possible, since it looks the most natural. Patients throughout California will often use ceramic-on-metal crowns since they look natural but have the durability that only metal can provide.
- BridgesAt Dr. Marcarian’s office, we provide dental crowns and bridges for patients throughout the 91436 area. - Restorative DentistryWhat is General Dentist? Many people are unsure about the services that a general dentist provides. While the term “general” is often used to describe people that provide only the basics, the same cannot be said about our dental office. Dr. Gevik Marcarian and the staff at our office provides a wide variety of services for patients throughout the 91436 area. We start with preventative care and through education, teeth cleanings, and dental exams, work to keep our patients’ teeth and gums healthy and in good condition. This is important because, without preventative health care and regular teeth cleanings, infections can develop and spread and eventually create bone loss in both the teeth and jawbone which can lead to teeth falling out. With the majority of adults suffering from some form of tooth loss, preventative health care is not an option but a necessity. Additionally, Dr. Gevik Marcarian focuses on restorative dentistry so that when a patient injures their tooth it can be corrected in a way that appears completely natural and makes it possible to eat, speak, and behave normally. This is incredibly important for the millions of adults that injure their teeth every year while playing sports, getting into a car wreck, or injuring their teeth at work. By specializing in restorations, Dr. Gevik Marcarian and the staff at Dr. Marcarian’s office makes it possible for patients throughout the Glendale and Encino areas to keep their natural teeth for as long as possible. If a patient loses their tooth, Dr. Gevik Marcarian can also replace it using a variety of modern dental procedures. Gone are the days where a lost tooth could not be replaced. Now there are multiple options for doing so and we can accommodate a variety of patient requests in our general dentistry office. This makes it possible for adults of all ages to maintain the functionality that can only come from having a full set of teeth. To learn more about what options are available for restoring or replacing your teeth, call (818)-285-0528 to schedule your appointment. Dr. Gevik Marcarian will conduct a thorough exam and make recommendations for what can be done to restore the full functionality and appearance of your smile. Patients throughout CA trust Dr. Gevik Marcarian to take care of all of their dentistry needs because of our commitment to excellence and dedication to our patients. Collaboration Dr. Gevik Marcarian is an expert at general dentistry and if there are any additional procedures that need to be performed outside of our offices expertise, we will refer you to an oral surgeon or other provider that we collaborate with on a regular basis. Our goal is to keep our patients in the best possible health so that when their health requires collaboration with other Glendale and Encino health care providers, we will bring them into the conversation. For the most part, any type of dental care that you need can be completed in our local office and patients from throughout Cali

- DenturesDentures Dentures are a trusted solution for replacing missing teeth. At Dr. Marcarian’s office our patients frequently ask Dr. Gevik Marcarian about dentures to determine if they are a good solution for their particular needs. As with any dental solution, there are pros and cons to wearing dentures and whether or not they will work for you depends largely on your lifestyle and the goals that you have for your appearance and the functionality of your smile. What are the types of dentures? There are three main types of dentures: temporary, partial dentures, and complete dentures.
- Dental ImplantsMissing teeth can be embarrassing, causing people to hide their smile and lose their self-esteem. The space created by missing teeth can easily become infected with bacteria, causing other teeth to shift out of place, and making it difficult for people to speak or eat correctly. Dr. Gevik Marcarian and the staff at Dr. Marcarian’s office are sensitive to the hardship a missing tooth can create. We provide dental implants so that our patients can regain their self-confidence, improve their health, and approach life boldly.
- Oral SurgeryTypes of Sedation Dentistry There are various levels and types of sedation. During your consultation Dr. Gevik Marcarian will discuss the recommended procedure with you along with any anxieties you may have. At that time, a recommendation will be made for the type of sedation you may want to consider. The ultimate decision is up to you based on how you believe you will handle the procedure. In many cases, our CA patients simply need to relax and prefer to use laughing gas in order to do so. It is quick, effective, and wears off when the procedure is finished without impairing any other bodily functions. Some patients use this to relax when getting their teeth cleaned since there is no actual pain associated with the treatment. When a cavity is being treated or other minor dental work performed, patients throughout the 91203 and 91436 areas often prefer to use a combination of laughing gas and localized pain medication. After numbing the surface of the gums, we can inject pain medication that numbs the area that is being worked on. As a sedation dentist, this is an effective tool for us to prevent and eliminate any discomfort. We can administer as much medication as is necessary throughout the course of the treatment, and only that specific area will remain numb. The benefit of this type of sedation is how localized it is. For example, if a cavity is being treated on one side of the mouth, the other side will remain fully functional. This way you can eat immediately after the treatment while the numbing effect wears off the other side. If a more intensive procedure is required, patients may prefer IV medication for a more thorough effect. When sedation is administered through this means the numbing effect is more pervasive and not confined to that one specific area of the mouth. It is extremely effective and as a sedation dentist, we find that many of our patients request this type of medication because they want to ensure that they do not feel anything while having dental work performed. If this is the case, the effect can still wear off fairly quickly after the treatment is over, but we do recommend having a friend or family member drive you home just in case. For those needing oral surgery in CA, total sedation may be necessary or preferable. This is often referred to as sleep dentistry because a patient is put to sleep and will not remember anything from the procedure. As a sedation dentist, we find that this is an excellent solution when a patient is getting a full smile makeover. When the majority of teeth are being worked on, the procedure can take a significant amount of time. Dr. Gevik Marcarian is an expert, but even an expert must do the work with precision and that requires not rushing through the procedure. With that in mind, many of our Glendale and Encino patients find it difficult to hold still when the treatment lasts longer than an hour or two. Going to sleep is a much better option because your body will naturally remain still,
- Gum SurgeryLaser Gum Surgery in Encino Perhaps one of the most significant advances that laser dentistry has made is associated with treating gum disease. This condition is so common that most adults will suffer from some form of gum disease in their lifetime. The symptoms typically start with red, swollen, and bleeding gums but if left untreated, it can lead to gum recession. Receding gums are particularly dangerous because more of the tooth and roots will become exposed and open for attack by bacteria. Many people suffer bone and tooth loss as a result. Treating gum disease, therefore, is critical for preserving your teeth as you age. The traditional method of treatment involves pulling the gums away from the tooth and using metal dental tools to scrape off the bacteria, plaque and tartar that has formed on the tooth but underneath the gums. This can be uncomfortable to say the least. Laser dentistry has completely changed the procedure. We offer periodontic care, and our patients can have their gum disease treated by using lasers to break up the plaque and tartar. This will remove the irritant that is causing the gum disease in the first place. Typically, the gums will then return to good health. Since this is a non-invasive procedure, our patients start to feel better right away. Not all dentists in the 91436 area offer this new method of treating gum disease, making it important to visit a laser dentistry office.
- Tooth ExtractionsTooth extractions: There are several restorative options when you need to have a tooth removed: Implants, Bridges and Dentures to name a few.
- OrthodonticsAt our offices, we provide orthodontic services for children and adults looking to straighten their teeth and align their jaw. Orthodontics is the study and treatment of dental displacement and malocclusions. As an expert at issues pertaining to the jaw, we can move and adjust teeth even if they are fully formed and hardened. This makes it possible to straighten teeth in adults, rather than children only. There are various specialties within orthodontia, with some orthodontists specializing in treating either children or adults. Additionally, dentofacial orthopedics is an area of orthodontic care that involves more surgical elements in order to correct issues with the jaw or face. Overall, an orthodontist in California treats the position of teeth and the jaw and while doing so, is also changing the overall shape and appearance of a patient’s face. At our offices, we find that many of our patients are pleasantly surprised by how dramatically different they look once their orthodontic treatment is complete. Dr Marcarian has received additional training in this field and has been practicing Orthodontics since 1990. This ensures dependable and reliable results for patients seeking orthodontic care. If you live in the Encino area and are considering straightening your teeth, we invite you to call (818)-285-0528 and schedule a consultation to meet with Dr. Marcarian and discuss your goals along with the treatment options that are available to you.
- Invisalign OrthodonticsHow does Invisalign® work? As an Invisalign® Dentist Dr. Gevik Marcarian straightens teeth using a series of aligners. First, an impression of your teeth is taken so that a series of aligners can be created in a dental lab. The aligners themselves are made out of a thermoplastic material that is strong and at the same time flexible in order to be comfortable when worn for long periods of time. The material is virtually invisible.
- BracesThere is less of a risk that your teeth will become stained as compared with wearing metal braces that can be difficult to clean.
- Teeth WhiteningIf you live in Encino, CA, you can benefit from a teeth whitening procedure at our local dental office. At Dr. Marcarian’s office, we are known for improving the appearance of our patients’ smiles. Dr. Gevik Marcarian is an expert cosmetic dentist and has multiple ways for doing so. We often recommend a teeth bleaching procedure because it is by far the easiest way to transform your smile. After cleaning your teeth, we can complete this procedure in time for a special event or as part of your regular oral health routine. People throughout California have their teeth whitened on a regular basis so that they can look and feel great. As people age, it is common for teeth to become dull and yellow. This is in part due to age itself and also due to what a person eats and drinks. Drinking coffee, tea and wine, for example, can stain your teeth. Smoking and eating foods that contain food coloring can also stain your teeth. Brushing immediately after eating and drinking can help to prevent stains but is typically not enough to remove the risk entirely. Fortunately, stained and yellow teeth don’t have to stay that way.
