Founded in 1951 and headquartered in Encino, Calif., Gelson's Markets is a subsidiary of Arden Group that is headquartered in Compton, Calif. Gelson s Markets is a chain of supermarkets offering a wide range of grocery and household items. It represents a large selection of local and national brands as well as a variety of private label items. The supermarket is a self-service store and sells products, including dry groceries, produce, meat, seafood, bakery, dairy, wine and liquor, floral, sushi, vitamins, health and natural food products, and health and beauty aids. Gelson's Markets has more than 15 locations throughout California, including Los Angeles, Valley Village, West Hollywood, Santa Barbara, Calabasas, Dana Point, Irvine, Sherman Oaks, Tarzana, Marina del Rey, Newport Beach, Northridge, Pasadena, and Westlake Village.
