Our firm traces its roots to a trio of small, regional firms that have operated in the Southside and Central Virginia areas for decades. One goal has always been of paramount importance: excellent, trusted customer service to our diverse base of clients. Our principal, Scott Thompson, CPA, CGMA, left private industry in 2001 to join a Certified Public Accounting office located in his home town of Emporia, Virginia. His specialties through the years have included taxation, small business consulting, retirement consulting, and bookkeeping services to name a few. His industry knowledge is very diverse as well, aiding clients in the agriculture, convenience store, oil, construction, auto dealer, and other retail and wholesale industries. On January 1, 2019 that office became S.A. Thompson & Associates. What really makes S.A. Thompson & Associates special is its staff of dedicated professionals. Our staffs attention to detail in bookkeeping, payroll services, and tax return preparation are second to none.
