Santen is a wholly owned subsidiary of Santen Pharmaceutical. Located in Northern California s Napa Valley, the United States office is comprised of health care professionals with its senior management team totaling more than 20 years of industry experience, knowledge and expertise based exclusively in the ophthalmic field. In early 2004, Santen entered into a partnership agreement with VISTAKON Pharmaceuticals, granting VISTAKON the exclusive U.S. distribution rights to the Santen ophthalmic products QUIXIN 0.5%, BETIMOL 0.25% and 0.5%, and ALAMAST 0.1%, as well as its newest product IQUIX 1.5%, which gained FDA approval in March 2004. Santen is also actively pursuing technological alliances with a number of pharmaceutical companies and research institutes and has investments in an intraocular lens company. Santen opened its doors in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1993.
