The Oakland Military Institute, also known as OMI, is a coeducational, public charter school that provides a variety of structured academic programs for cadets to develop as scholars, leaders, critical thinkers and citizens. Its academic curriculum includes classes in various subjects, such as language arts, reading, math, history, science, economics, social studies, English, computer education, physics, chemistry, biology and military science. The Oakland Military Institute also administers visual and performing arts programs that feature drawing, painting, sculpting and design. It organizes several conferences, as well as staff and senior leadership meetings. Additionally, the Oakland Military Institute provides opportunities for students to participate in a range of sports activities.
