LifeShare Community Blood Services is a community-based, nonprofit organization that provides blood and its components for patients in northeastern Ohio. Founded in 1948, the organization serves Lorain, Cuyahoga and Stuart counties in Ohio. LifeShare Community Blood Services supplies more than 150,000 units of blood components annually. It maintains facilities for storing, processing and distributing blood components. The organization operates various permanent donor facilities, as well as organizes mobile blood collection drives. LifeShare Community Blood Services is accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks and is certified by the Food and Drug Administration. It is affiliated with America s Blood Centers, which is a group of over 75 blood centers.
