- Dental ExaminationAs a family dental practice, Dr. Malecki and his staff want to make your child feel as comfortable and welcome as possible during their routine appointments. When you bring your very young child in for their first appointment, we make it a point to focus on at-home oral hygiene and future treatments to consider while keeping the exam and cleaning process relatively short. As they start getting used to visiting, their checkups will be more involved.
- Oral Cancer ScreeningOral cancer has the potential to develop in patients even who have no symptoms, making it extremely important to be on the lookout for during every routine checkup. As part of your exam, we make sure no underlying or early signs of oral cancer (i.e. red or white patches of tissue, long-term oral sores, or thickened areas of tissue) are present. If we believe something is a cause for concern, we’ll schedule you for an appointment with a separate doctor for diagnosis and potentially treatment.
- Teeth CleaningPeriodontal therapy may also require the removal of dead or dying gum tissue as well as plaque and tartar that caused the infection in the first place. In order to conserve as much healthier tissue as possible as well as reduce the amount of healing needed in between periodontal cleanings, we make use of a soft tissue laser. Laser dentistry is actually more comfortable to complete compared to using traditional dental instruments, making your treatment and aftercare easier.
- Fluoride TreatmentFluoride is found in your oral care products and recommended by dentists all over the country for a reason. It’s considered to be a powerful mineral capable of both protecting and strengthening tooth enamel in the long-term. While it’s found in toothpaste, public drinking water, and the foods you eat, we also recommend a routine fluoride application for patients young and old. Doing so protects your smile in between checkups and should give you confidence during your at-home oral hygiene.
- Fillings
- Resin CompositeIf you have received dental fillings before, you may know that they tend to be made from silver amalgam, a material that is quite visible next to natural enamel. Dr. Malecki opts for tooth-colored composite resin to create and place dental fillings. Not only are they capable of blending in exactly with your existing tooth thanks to custom-shading, but they are less prone to causing tooth sensitivity when exposed to hot and cold substances.
- VeneersIf you have multiple imperfections in your smile that you’d prefer to address with a single treatment, veneers are quite effective thanks to their highly customizable attributes. Each veneer is personalized to blend in with existing teeth. Everything from the size, shape, and color are taken into account before being bonded to slightly modified enamel. By taking proper care of your veneers, they can last you at least at least a decade!
- CrownsEven with the best at-home oral care and dedicated checkups, cavities can still find themselves inside your smile. If they do, you’ll need to keep in mind that your teeth will not be able to heal on their own. That means that the dental filling you need now from a small cavity could turn into a dental crown for a larger cavity later. With highly personalized and natural-looking restorations from Dr. Malecki and his team, you can start having confidence in your long-term oral health!
- BridgesAre you missing single or multiple consecutive teeth? To fill the gap in your smile and prevent teeth from shifting out of place, our office designs a dental bridge. This restoration is made up of several crowns that have been fused together. While the crowns on either end of the bridge attach to teeth adjacent to the gap, the crown in the center (or the pontic) of the bridge ensures the gap is filled and makes your smile complete.
- Dental BondingWhen you need a minor touchup to one or more of your teeth, cosmetic bonding can make your smile makeover that much more affordable. Using composite resin, Dr. Malecki can treat a wide variety of cosmetic issues. This includes stains, discoloration, chips, cracks, and even small gaps in between teeth. Treatment only takes a single appointment to complete, yet the results can last for many years when you practice routine at-home oral hygiene and stop on top of checkups.
- Restorative Dentistry
- Root Canal TreatmentToothaches can have various causes. You should see a dentist as soon as possible for any tooth pain that lasts more than 48 hours or grows particularly severe, as it could mean you have a pulp infection that requires a root canal. Also, if your teeth are sensitive (meaning they hurt when they touch something hot or cold), it’s crucial that we figure out the reason as soon as possible in case it’s a symptom of a larger problem.
- Deep CleaningAlong with cleaning and sanitizing during the day, we take things to another level at night with a thorough top-to-bottom scrub down.
- DenturesYes, we offer bridges, partial dentures, and full dentures depending on how many teeth are missing. Also, dental implants are available in-house for those who want an advanced solution that will result in a strong, natural-looking smile.
- Dental ImplantsWhile there are multiple solutions out there that work to replace teeth, they are not created equal. For example, if you want to make sure your underlying bone remains healthy as you get older and have no difficulty eating your favorite foods, dental implants are the best option to make your smile complete. Dr. Malecki is trained to complete the entire implant process in-house, so feel free to schedule your implant consultation today to see if treatment is right for you!
- Oral Surgery
- Tooth ExtractionsIf a tooth cannot be salvaged in any way, sometimes a tooth extraction is the only way to protect your oral health and neighboring teeth. After all, diseases like tooth decay are considered to be infections. That means they have the potential to spread to other teeth and cause dental problems. Removal of a tooth is also considered to be a last resort and only performed if a root canal therapy would not make a difference.
- Orthodontics
- Invisalign OrthodonticsThe clear aligner system that Invisalign provides is one of the most popular and well-known today thanks to its effectiveness at resolving misaligned, rotated, and crooked teeth as well as uneven bites (or malocclusions.) We plan your treatment from start-to-finish during your consultation, so you can see exactly what your smile realignment looks like from the day you start to the day you finish. Because the aligners are transparent and removable, you can expect many conveniences you won’t find with traditional braces.
- BracesIf gapped, crooked, rotated, or misaligned teeth are making it difficult for you to show off your smile, you should know that you don’t necessarily have to settle for traditional braces just to make corrections to the positions of your teeth and bite alignment. At Malecki Family Dental, we offer three different orthodontic solutions based on your specific needs. To learn their differences and start planning your smile transformation, give our office a call !
- Teeth WhiteningAny elective procedure such as teeth whitening most likely will not fall under the scope of your dental plan.
