Pierce County Highway Department, located in Ellsworth, Wis., constructs and maintains the county roads, bridges and signs. The department also issues driveway permit applications for access from county roads, issues utility permit applications and operates the Prescott Lift Bridge through a contract with the state. The department is a division of the Pierce County Department that also operates various divisions. The department s divisions include administration, law enforcement, circuit court, library, corporation counsel, maintenance and county clerk. Additionally, the divisions comprise district attorney, emergency management, park, emergency management and public health.
