WE EAT AT AMALFI'S ALL THE TIME. I CAN NEVER DECIDE WHAT TO GET BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS SO GOOD. MOST OF THE TIME, WE END UP GETTING SEVERAL THINGS AND SPLITTING THEM BECAUSE WE CAN'T DECIDE. THEIR CHEF SALAD IS THE BEST IN TOWN. PROBABLY BECAUSE I LOVE THEIR CREAMY ITALIAN DRESSING. THEIR STEAK SUB AND CALZONES ARE ALSO A FAVORITE. THE STAFF IS ALWAYS POLITE AND FRIENDLY.

We visited here at 2:30 on Friday, Jan 30, 2009. We ordered off of the lunch menu. I ordered the Stuffed Shells & my husband ordered Lasagna. When the unsweetened teas arrived, they were sour. No problem, we returned them to the counter & got a different drink. When the food arrived, it looked presentable, but tasted terrible. The sauce tasted like it was poured out of a metal can & the shells were rubbery. The beef on the lasagna tasted like it was about 5 days old. It had a very spoiled taste to it. We decided not to eat our meal, for fear of illness. My husband went to the front to pay & when the man asked about our food, he was told, in a very polite manner, "It was pretty bad. The meat on the lasagna was spoiled". The man said OK, that will be $**.**. No apology, no "Let us replace it with something else", nothing at all. We were looking forward to trying their restaurant, but now know that was a big mistake & will not return. I will report this to the health dept.
