Bluegrass Tank and Equipment was founded by Richard E. Davis in Elizabethtown, Ky., in 1972 with two employees. In 1986, its present facility was built to manage the fabrication and repair of food grade transport tanks. The facility in Elizabethtown is built on more than 28,000-square-feet of space with supporting offices, storage yard and parking areas. Since 1975, Bluegrass Tank and Equipment has been an authorized Walker dealer selling sanitary food grade transport trailers. In 2004, the company added the Trail King Division that includes the Ti Brook series of trailers. The company supplies custom-built transport to the dairy industry. In addition, Bluegrass Tank and Equipment has manufactured fire and rescue equipment trucks for more than 10 years on a custom design basis. The company currently employs more than 35 people.
