StreetLight Mission is a faith based community outreach center located in the inner city of Elizabeth, New Jersey primarily serving the people of Union and Essex Counties who struggle with mental illness, disabilities, poverty and most of all hopelessness. Many of those we care for are elderly, children, and single parent families. The motto of StreetLight Mission is bringing hope in a time of need. We realize that at some time in our life we all need some help. It is our goal to help each person choose steps that lead them to wholeness, becoming productive members of their families and the community. We begin by helping people with Basic Life Needs such as food, clothing, and housing. Then when the person feels safe, it is our hope that they will seek help with more difficult problems they face through our Recovery Mentoring Services such as substance abuse, mental illness, abusive situations and joblessness.
