- GlaucomaGlaucoma is a condition caused by elevated fluid pressure within the eye. If the fluid does not drain adequately, pressure can build-up, causing damage to the optic nerve and eventual loss of sight. One of the dangers of glaucoma is that there are often no symptoms until vision loss becomes apparent. Consequently, it is important to have regular eye exams that include testing to measure intraocular pressure.

At Fox Valley Ophthalmology, our doctors carefully track research being conducted to find new methods of treatment for this disease.

Cataracts are very common, affecting roughly 60% of people over the age of 60, and over 1.5 million cataract surgeries are performed in the United States each year.

Before determining if these premium lens implants are right for you, it is important to discuss your lens implant options with your cataract surgeon.
