Provided by YP.comI purchased an Alpine 1200 w-1000 rms amp, a bass knob and Alpine tweeters from here but I had an Alpine SWR-12D4 subwoofer that I purchased the week prior from another audio store. I had Pro Audio install the bass knob, tweeters and amp (the 4 gauge wiring and sub enclosed in a vented box was installed the week before by Pacific Audio) along with a few other non-electronic items. I smelled plastic burning the first day after the install and returned the next day. The shop owner, Alex, opened my trunk to find the sub smoking, that sub had blown. Alex explained that the amp he had suggested was the correct power and there was no reason the amp or installation was faulty. He charged me the price I paid for the sub, he said the sub was "defective", and installed another Alpine sub that blew the same night after I left his shop. The next day I returned and Alex wanted to trade out the speaker for a Kicker CVR 12', which is much weaker than the Alpine, but while he was still testing out the stereo the sub starting smoking. Alex finally listened to my suggestion that the amp was causing the problem and agreed to switch out the amp. He temporarily put a PlanetAudio 1000w amp, which comes with a bass knob, in my car until the following Monday. I was told I could pick any amp I wanted and would not have to pay anything extra for it nor would I have to pay for the sub. Well Monday comes and Alex tells me he does not have a 1600w Hifonics amp (the amp I asked for the previous day) but has a Hifonics Zeus1200w-600rms which comes with a bass knob. I was not able to be refunded the cost of the bass knob I purchased nor did I receive the difference from the cheaper amp I was given. $75 for a MTX bass knob, $220 Alpine Amp, $75 Alpine tweeters and $75 labor. I constantly told Alex not to turn the stereo volume past 25 because I would never listen to it that loudly but every time he wanted me to hear the system he turned the volume up way past 35. In the end, this blew my tweeters so now I have an amp that's as powerful as the amp I had installed before walking into his shop, no tweeters and bass knob that's paid for but not in my possession. I would not recommend any Active duty soldier spend money in the establishment. I am trying to receive a refund through the finance company-Simple Finance-because I still spent the cash to purchase new tweeters and a new amp.
