In the early 1990s, a small group of document management professionals combined their knowledge and experience to bring imaging systems and solutions to businesses in the Southwest, using software and hardware that were then industry standards. The experiment, known today as Critical Technologies, proved successful. As document and records management products have evolved, Critical has continued to develop and deliver solutions to meet the needs of the marketplace. In 1998, Critical launched one of the first distributed capture software solutions on the market that offered remote scanning, indexing and transmission of indexed images to centralized repositories. Critical then introduced a Web-hosted document management service in early 2000. Other enhancements include a re-write using Microsoft s .NET platform, with online workflow, consolidated user interfaces, full text searching and data mining. The company s iMagio platform serves more than 10,000 users and hosts more than 1 billion records. Critical Technologies is headquartered in Edmond, Okla.
