• Osseous Surgery
  Periodontal or gum disease is the inflammation of the gums caused by a build-up of bacterial plaque in the mouth. Mild to moderate cases of gum inflammation can be treated using non-surgical methods such as scaling and root planing. If periodontal disease is left untreated to the point of significant bone loss, surgical intervention may be required. Osseous surgery refers to the surgical recontouring of jawbone to restore your mouth after an episode of severe periodontal disease.

  Ridge or socket preservation is a dental procedure that’s performed to prevent bone loss after tooth extraction. Usually, after an extraction, it’s common for the jawbone to shrink or narrow through a physiological process known as resorption. Resorption involves the breakdown of bone minerals by osteoclasts.
• Bone Grafting
  Bone grafting can build up areas with inadequate bone due to previous injuries, extractions, or gum disease. The grafting material is taken either from the patient’s own body or from a tissue bank.
