- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)Dr. Thornton has been publishing ground breaking research in the understanding of the quantitative EEG and its application to the learning disabled, ADHD and traumatic brain injured subject since the 1990s. He has developed the Neurocognitive approach to the improvement of brain functioning. The Neurocognitive approach precisely deï¬ nes the relationship between effective cognitive activity and electrophysiological variables and increases the cognitive effectiveness of the human mind with operant (rewarding/inhibiting of spontaneous behavior) conditioning methodology of the brain’s electrophysiology.
- Mental HealthThe Center for Health Psychology was founded in New Jersey in 1985 by Dr. Kirtley Thornton, Dr. Nathaniel Pallone, and Dr. Carl Einhorn. It was a private general mental health clinic which offered a diverse array of mental health services, ranging from individual psychotherapy, marriage counseling, psychodiagnostic testing, hypnotherapy, court evaluations for custody situations, evaluations for legal situations, and other services for a wide set of HMO & PPO type clients. Between 1985 and 2012 there were over 10 Ph.D. psychologists, three psychiatrists, and five biofeedback technicians associated with the practice.
