Just had a terrible customer service experience at Macy's in Edina. I purchased a $230.00 pair of Ray Ban sunglasses here at the end of April. They are foldable and while they look really cool all folded up they tear out my hair on both sides of my head. I have rarely worn them because of this issue. I went in to see there was anyway to return them for a pair without a hinge on the middle of the frames. The sales woman that I met with was very nice and indicated that it was just outside of the normal 90 day return policy but she would be able to exchange them for me anyway. So I went home, picked up the glasses and made the trip back to Macy's for this purpose only. When I got there the sales person was on break so I explained the situation to another sales woman working. After picking out the glasses and going through 15 minutes of the return another saleswoman came up and stopped the exchange indicating they could get in trouble for doing so and that it wasn't really defective for the glasses to be unwearable because they pulled my hair out. The saleswoman then questioned whether I purchased the glasses at this location because "they don't sell foldables here." I told her yes, she was the one who actually sold me the glasses. She then looked at the printed form and saw that was true but continued to be rude. She asked me to step aside and wait for the employee who was on break. So I did. For another 10 to 15 minutes while the two sales employees just talked about how long the missing sales employee was on break and other employee-based store drama. There was a long line of people listening to all of this and it was very uncomfortable throughout this experience. The woman who initially sold me the glasses helped another woman make a return then turned to me and said "try on your glasses for me, I want to see them grab your hair." I did. Again, with a line full of people. She then said that I should come back next week when their manager comes back from vacation in Alaska. Ridiculously rude and disappointing experience that ended up lasting about 45 minutes. I will not be going back for future sunglassses there.
