ACIST Medical Systems manufactures contrast injection systems used by hospitals in more than 30 countries worldwide. Founded by Dr. Robert Wilson in 1991, ACIST Medical Systems was acquired in 2001 by the Bracco Group, a provider of integrated solutions for the diagnostic imaging field. Bracco is headquartered in Milan, Italy, with a subsidiary, Bracco Diagnostics, in Princeton, N.J. In addition to marketing and selling contrast agents, the company also manages all sales of ACIST systems in the United States. More than 1,000 systems are being used worldwide, providing thousands of physicians with a method of delivering contrast to obtain angiographic images. ACIST Medical Systems maintains offices in Eden Prairie, Minn., and has a customer service facility and a distribution center in Maastricht and Sittard, Netherlands.
