General Info

I believe the treatment of MS should be undertaken as early as possible during the disease course. Earlier diagnosis and treatment will lend to better long-term benefits and continued independence for our patients. The importance of MS medications, symptomatic treatments, diet, exercise and ongoing patient education is of utmost importance to me. I am committed to helping patients to find the most efficacious combination of medications and therapies for their lifestyle. I am proud to be the director of our MS care team here at St Luke’s, complete with advanced practitioners, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech and dysphagia team and a MS social worker who are all specifically trained in demyelinating and autoimmune diseases. This team approach helps to provide our patients with the most comprehensive and compassionate care to meet our patients’ needs. Working with patients and their families to maximize not only medication options but all activities of daily life individualized to each patient has been very rewarding for me. I am a board certified neurologist, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with Multiple Sclerosis for the past 20 years. I have been medical director of the MS Center for St Luke’s University Health network since 2010. My love of medicine and treating patients began in medical school at Georgetown University, and my specific passion for the field of neurology was ignited during my residencies at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Drexel University School of Medicine. Our MS Center strives to adopt our patients into our MS family. Our center is committed to community events, such as the MS Walk, patient-centered wellness and education programs that occur monthly as well as our annual holiday MS educational luncheon held for our patients to celebrate the past year and give guidance for success in next. I personally know the importance of family and friends. In my free time, I embrace quality time with my husband and 3 children. I cannot overstress the importance of a supportive family and home environment. I enjoy watching my children’s growth in both sporting and musical endeavors. The importance of community is very special to me as well.
