- Dental Examination
- X-raysDental X-rays are a valuable diagnostic tool used to identify decay, extra teeth, bone defects, tumors, cysts and check the progress of previous procedures. Advances in technology now allow for digital X-rays, which reduce radiation exposure more than 50 percent, and produce instant, high-quality images that can be viewed immediately by the dentist and the patient.
- Teeth CleaningOur office emphasizes the importance of preventive & diagnostic treatment to ensure optimal oral health and prevent dental issues for your child. Comprehensive oral evaluations, recommended biannually, serve as a cornerstone for detecting dental problems early on. Regular dental cleanings involving the careful removal of plaque and tartar are crucial for maintaining healthy gums and preventing cavities. Advancements in digital radiography have significantly reduced radiation exposure while providing immediate, high-quality images for accurate diagnosis.
- Fluoride TreatmentDuring this visit, we will get to know your child and help them feel comfortable in the office by explaining what will happen during the visit and showing them the tools we will use to help keep their smile healthy. At your child’s first visit, we will review your child’s medical/dental health history with you, perform a thorough head and neck examination, and evaluate your child’s teeth and gums. Digital radiographs (x-rays) are taken only if necessary. If no treatment is needed, the teeth will be cleaned and a fluoride treatment will be provided.
- Dental SealantsFocusing on dental education and healthy habits, our team provides detailed oral hygiene instructions during check-ups to enhance your child's daily oral care, as well as the application of dental sealants to shield teeth from decay. These comprehensive services are designed to maintain your child's oral health and prevent future complications, ensuring a healthy smile for years to come.
- Space MaintainersSpace maintainers are used to keep teeth from drifting into an empty tooth space due to early loss of primary (baby) teeth. Baby teeth act as a guide for the eruption of the permanent teeth. A space maintainer is made of stainless steel and/or plastic. It can be removable or fixed to the teeth.
- Fillings
- CrownsCrowns are used to restore damaged or decayed teeth in children. Crowns completely cover the remaining tooth structure after it has been treated. They can be made of many different materials, including stainless steel, composite materials, polycarbonate, resin, porcelain, and zirconia. We offer several different options, allowing us to choose what is best for each child and each tooth.
- Dental Bonding
- Pulpotomy
- Root Canal TreatmentIf the inner chamber of the tooth, known as the dental pulp, is invaded by the cavity, it will gradually deteriorate and become infected. The root canal process involves removing the infected pulp, cleaning out the chamber and roots (if needed), and filling the chamber and/or canals with a material that will help restore the tooth until it is time for in to normally exfoliate ( fall out on its own naturally).
- Tooth Extractions
- OrthodonticsInterceptive Orthodontics represents a proactive approach in the field of dental care, focusing on early detection and treatment of malocclusions and dental irregularities in children. By identifying and addressing orthodontic issues at a young age, the need for more extensive orthodontic treatments can be reduced as they grow. By intervening at an optimal time during a child’s growth and development, interceptive orthodontics can guide the proper alignment of teeth, ensure adequate space for emerging permanent teeth, and help in the correct development of the jaw, contributing to the aesthetic appearance of a child’s smile, promoting better oral health and function, and laying a solid foundation for a lifetime of healthy teeth.
- BracesThe Herbst appliance is used in conjunction with braces to correct an overbite. Overbite is often caused by the size and position of the lower jaw. The Herbst appliance is generally used for patients between the ages of 10 and 13 years to take advantage of the patient’s natural growth spurt, aiding in the development and positioning of the lower jaw. The appliance is attached with bands cemented to one upper and one lower molar on each side of the mouth, connecting the upper and lower jaws. Gradually, the position of the lower jaw will shift, and the next phase of orthodontic treatment can begin.
- Teeth WhiteningWhitening, also known as bleaching, is the procedure used to brighten teeth. In-office whitening usually requires only one office visit. A protective gel or a rubber shield is placed over the gums to protect the soft tissue. A bleaching agent containing carbamide peroxide is applied to the teeth, and a laser light is then used to enhance the action of the whitening agent.
