I had Russo Bros. & Co. come out for service for intermittent heat and they charged a $150 diagnostic fee. It was a warm day and the technician was time constrained and their opinion was there was no issue but assured me if there was any issue, Russo Bros. & Co. would come back and waive the diagnostic fee.
Shortest version, it was a warm month and it is a area of the house not used every day, about a month later we turned on the heat and it didn’t work so I called Russo Bros. & Co.. They were not very pleasant about informing me I’d need to pay another diagnostic fee, even though I agreed if I didn’t have them do any work I’d pay it. Even though they answer the phone “it’s a great day at Russo Brothers”, they were mean-spirited and argumentative about collecting their fee.
Russo Bros. & Co. sent a Service Manager who apologized and said they would waive the diagnostic fee, it was a misunderstanding and requested I take down a yelp review. They replaced a circulator pump.
What prompted the re-review for prospective customers is that they charged me $956 for the circulator. The circulator pump has a list price of $157 and sells on amazon for $88. My system has individual shut-offs for each pump, plenty of space to work and the Service Manager was in my basement less than an hour.
So, Russo Bros. & Co did not rectify the situation to my satisfaction. For those interested, a search for “cost to replace circulator pump on boiler” on Angie’s list a full repair including labor ranges between $200 and $550, this was the highest range I could find, and their assumptions even use same Taco-brand pump.
I understood I was paying a premium with Russo Bros. & Co, but as other reviews note I believe they gouged me on price, in my specific case and giving them the benefit of the doubt, they overcharged me more than 42%. And by the way, during my research I saw a Better Business Bureau complaint about their diagnostic fee.
I’ll never use them again.
Bill Platt, just like everyone else that I have interacted with at Russo Bros., was professional and a pleasure to speak with. Bill explained what he would be working on today, as well as the cost of renewing my contract. When I explained to Bill that I was having trouble removing the filter from the furnace, he told me I would need to turn off the furnace first which would turn off the blower and that would make it easier.
Office had truck and service tech (Mike) arrive to house same day I called. Tech stayed for hours until job was completed to satisfaction. Suggested different solutions to help save time and money. Very friendly, clean, and professional.
HIGHLY RECCOMEND ANTONIO! His work was extremely thorough. He will not leave unless his job is PERFECT! Very friendly and extremely patient answering my questions/ concerns to help me understand Air Conditioner functions and how it works!!! Regarding AC help, ASK FOR ANTONIO! :)
Russo Bros continues to be a reliable, fast, and quality service company. Can't say enough great things about Joe C., the technician who has been out several times to help with a variety of plumbing and a/c service and repair issues over the years. He takes the time to explain what he's doing, helps troubleshoot to prevent future problems, and is an all-around professional.

EDDY G & BERNIE S WERE SO KNOWLEDGEABLE AND INFORMATIVE. NOT A QUESTION WENT UNANSWERED. BERNIE AND ANTONIO WERE POLITE AND CONSCIENTIOUS. THEY WORKED HARD ALL DAY AND DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB.

This was my first time using Russo Bros. From my first call, service complete and then follow up call, each individual was professional and friendly. Matt L. Arrived shortly after I received a call telling me he was on his way. We talked about all the possible options and each step along the way he explained the problems and possible causes. We ended up installing a brand new toilet. I appreciate a technician who takes the time to explain everything so thoroughly. I highly recommend Matt L. And Russo Bros. & Co.

Russo Bros. is always super-professional. They answer request for service calls immediately and always show up on time. Art S. was extremely polite, well-informed and solved our problem. I have used many other plumbers, but if you want the job done correctly the first time, just call Russo Bros. first and last!

Jeff was a great service tech. He assessed the damaged and did not leave our house until the job was right and fully complete. He ensured that the work area was covered and made sure all plumbing pieces fit exactly. There was not much for me to clean up when he was finished. Normally when someone does work in your house you have to clean up after them. Jeff was courteous, explained each part of the job, and gave a thorough explanation of the price breakdown.

I called Russo Bros. to repair my lawn sprinkler system. Jeremy Z arrived on time, was professional, courteous and knowledgeable about my outdated system. He made all my repairs quickly and explained everything as he went along. It was a stress free experience.
