We provide mediation services to couples that are getting divorced in Rhode Island. A skilled mediator can help a couple getting divorced, end the marriage at significantly less cost and animosity than having two opposing attorneys argue in front of a family court judge. In addition to being less costly, in mediation the two parties can decide what will be in the divorce agreement and how assets will be divided. Parents can also decide how they want to deal with child custody and child visitation issues. If a divorce is litigated, the family court judge is the one who decides these issues and the divorce agreement is public. In mediation, the divorce agreement can be kept private.
