Located in Easley, S.C., Gettys Middle School serves students in grades six through eight and is operated by the School District of Pickens County. Founded in 1962, the school offers various facilities, including classrooms, a shop, science laboratory, cafeteria, gymnasium and auditorium. Its academic courses include English, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education, computer science and foreign language. The school provides various athletic activities, such as football, volleyball and basketball. Its media center offers a variety of resources for teachers and students and has a card catalogue facility. The middle school offers a variety of student programs and activities, such as clubs, sports, student government, band and chorus. Additionally, it offers memberships to the National Junior Honor Society.
