Founded in 1965, the Maverick County Hospital District is located in Eagle Pass, Texas. The district s early childhood intervention program serves families of infants and toddlers with disabilities. The program includes developmental, vision, nursing and nutrition services and physical, occupational and speech therapies. Its diabetes education program offers diabetes self-management classes and individual educational sessions. The Maverick County Hospital District additionally provides nutrition education and medical financial assistance programs. The district helps to improve cognitive, motor, communication, social and emotional skills in students with disabilities. It offers services in homes and community settings. The Maverick County Hospital District works in collaboration with several school districts, private nonprofit organizations, and education service and mental health centers.
