Fred Astaire Dance Studio has made the dream of wanting to dance come true. The Teachers are unbelievable, supportive, caring, knowledgeable, amazing, and gifted. Although I was never a person to make New Year's resolutions, each New Year I would plan to accomplish one thing that I always wanted to do. (I hate to call it a bucket list, but essentially I was marking items off the old bucket list.) One of the items on my list was ballroom dancing. So, 5 years ago I walked into the FADS Durham studio. I knew after just a few lessons that I had found my passion, needless to say, I threw that list away. Now my New Year's promise to me is to make dancing goals and improve throughout the year.

I drive from Wake Forest to the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Durham to take dance lessons. I began taking lessons locally and realized I wanted to improve my level of dance and maybe even enter competitions. I had heard about the Durham studio instructors so I called and explained my interest in becoming a better dancer. I have found the quality of instruction to be truly unbelievable and I feel so fortunate to be able to follow my dream of dancing. I has changed my life? dancing makes me feel ageless and graceful and it is a pleasure to be in the company of other students who feel the same.
