General Info
Dr. Deb Conner is a Durham, NC, endodontic specialist committed to your care. A graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill Dental School for both her DDS degree and her specialty MS degree (including her Endodontics Certificate), she is a native North Carolinian with deep roots in the Triangle area. Each year while practicing dentistry and while earning her specialty degree, Dr. Conner attended continuing education programs throughout the country to improve her knowledge and skills. As a specialist, she continues to seek out the best continuing education available to stay current in her field and provide the best care possible to her patients. While earning her specialty degree in Endodontics at UNC-CH, Dr. Conner's research involved using patient demographic and health data to study possible correlations between health issues (diabetes and high blood pressure) and endodontic treatment outcomes. She did not do any animal research during any of her studies. Dr. Conner provides root canal treatment in a friendly, comfortable, low-stress environment. Since root canal treatment is about controlling infection, our treatment protocol is guided by the best research available. That means if there is active infection, success goes from 75% if treated in one visit to 96% if treated in two (or three) visits. Therefore, most of our initial treatments are multiple visits (resulting in over a 99% success rate). Because we want our root canal treatments to succeed, we go to all lengths to control infection while creating a positive patient experience. We alleviate anxiety (through anxiolytics, on-site massage therapist, choice of music, warm blanket, and more), achieve profound anesthesia (if it hurts, she stops), and control infection (whether that takes 1, 2 or more visits).
