Child Protective Services, a division of the Durham County Department of Social Services, provides services to children known or alleged to be abused, neglected or dependent. CPS offers investigative assessment, case management, at-risk services, home placement and juvenile court intervention. Its services are provided in collaboration with other community agencies on behalf of children, youth and their families. Child Protective Services is located in Durham, N.C., a city in north central North Carolina with a population of more than 450,000.
