The Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 (IU8) is a nonprofit, public education service agency that was founded in 1971. The agency offers a range of educational services for more than 35 rural public school districts, over five area vocational-technical schools and nearly 70 nonpublic schools in Bedford, Blair, Cambria and Somerset counties in Pennsylvania.
