  Physical Therapists are trained in a wide area of specialties including sports medicine, wound care, geriatrics, orthopedics, pediatrics, and more. They work in both inpatient (hospital) and outpatient settings and provide therapy to Home Health patients, Nursing Home residents and to local schools. They collaborate with both the patients and their support systems/families
• Primary Care
  If you are being admitted directly from your primary care physician's office, your doctor should provide you with orders detailing how your care should proceed. Please bring this paperwork with you when you come. Having them handy will greatly speed up this process and prevent any undesired delays.
• Family Practice
  MCHD offers its community a wide range of services including hospital inpatient and level IV emergency and EMS services; outpatient services including home health, hospice, various therapy services, surgical services, and self-referral mammography; owns and operates a 54-bed nursing home; and currently operates a total of seven physician clinics providing services from family medicine to specialized surgical care.

  The MCHD emergency room is staffed by physicians and mid-level providers from Concord Medical, who serve not only our Emergency Department, but provide a continuum of care in our Med/Surg & ICU unit, Swingbed unit, and Nursing Home.

  Business Associates: There are some services provided in our organization through contracts with business associates. Examples include physician services in emergency department and radiology, certain laboratory tests, and a copy service we use when making copies of your health record. When these services are contracted, we may disclose your health information to our business associates so that they can perform the job we have asked them to do and bill you or your third-party payer for services rendered. To protect your health information, however, we require the business associate to appropriately safeguard your information.

  If you are visiting us for an outpatient procedure such as a day surgery, blood draw, or an imaging procedure such as a bone density scan, CT scan, or x-ray, we can pre-admit you before the scheduled day and time of your procedure.

  MCHD Therapists are trained in Document Based Care for the Active Spine Care System and have special training for Functional Capacity Evaluations, Sports Medicine, Neurodevelopmental Treatment, Wound Care, and are Lympedena Certified.

  Occupational Therapy is often confused with the specific treatment of workman’s comp/ vocational/ job training cases and, though Occupational Therapists do help with these lines of treatment, the majority of their work is to identify and eliminate environmental barriers to a patient’s independence and participation in their daily home activities. Occupational Therapists focus on adapting the environment, modifying tasks, teaching skills, and/or educating the patient (and their support system/family) in order to increase their participation and performance of their daily activities, especially those activities that are the most meaningful to the patient.
