Northwood Children's Services is a private, nonprofit, multiservice agency that provides professional care and educational services for boys and girls with emotional, behavioral and learning disabilities. Founded in 1883, the organization offers family mental health and diagnostic and assessment services. It also provides day treatment and therapeutic foster care programs. Located in Duluth, Minn., Northwood Children's Services receives support from individual donors and clubs. The organization s program sites and services are licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services. It is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Services for Children and Families. Northwood Children's Services offers a residential treatment program that includes health services, family counseling, recreational activities, special education, and group living and life skills training.
