Churches United in Ministry, formerly called Central Hillside United Ministry, is a nonprofit agency that provides a range of services for low-income individuals and families. Established in 1973, it offers various emergency food, shelter, advocacy, case management, housing stabilization and street outreach services. The agency maintains a drop-in center that provides services for homeless and low-income people with chemical dependency and mental health issues. Churches United in Ministry offers medical care, employment, clothing, nutrition and children s services through its food shelf program. The agency is funded by individuals, churches, businesses, civic groups, government and the United Way of Greater Duluth. Churches United in Ministry is located in Duluth, Minn.
