- Emergency CareIn December 2017, CareChart was awarded a grant through the Health Technologies Fund in partnership with five Ontario Cancer Centres and a third-party vendor to innovate the program with real-time shared access to patient health records. This funding will increase the current level of symptom management support for oncology patients, extend hospital reach for patients outside of the treatment centre, and reduce avoidable emergency room visits after clinic hours.

- Computed TomographyPhysicians use a variety of tests and procedures to diagnose cancer. If something is detected during a physical examination or screening test, or if a patient has a symptom that warrants further investigation, physicians may order lab tests (blood, urine, other body fluids), imaging tests (X-rays, CT scans, etc.), a biopsy (removal of a small amount of tissue for examination under a microscope) or other tests.

- Radiation TherapyCancer treatment is provided by specialists called “oncologists.” The treatment plan depends on the cancer type, its stage, the patient’s personal situation and other factors.
