Founded in 1967 as Ohio College Library Center, the OCLC Online Computer Library Center is a nonprofit, membership, computer library service and research organization. It helps to improve access to information and reduce the rate of library costs. The organization s services are used by more than 71,000 libraries in over 110 countries throughout the world to locate, acquire, catalog, lend and preserve library materials. The OCLC Online Computer Library Center serves researchers, students, faculty members, scholars and professional librarians. The organization offers ArchiveGrid, which is an online service that provides access to detailed archival collection descriptions, such as historical documents, personal papers and family histories. It administers the Cataloging Label Program, which is a Windows software that manages the creation, display, editing and printing of pocket and spine cataloging labels.
