- Dental ExaminationDental radiographs (X-rays) are essential, preventative, diagnostic tools that provide valuable information not visible during a regular dental exam. Dentists and dental hygienists use this information to safely and accurately detect hidden dental abnormalities and complete an accurate treatment plan. Without X-rays, problem areas may go undetected.
- X-raysDigital radiography (digital X-ray) is the latest technology used to take dental X-rays. This technique uses an electronic sensor (instead of X-ray film) that captures and stores the digital image on a computer. This image can be instantly viewed and enlarged, helping the dentist and dental hygienist detect problems more easily. Digital X-rays reduce radiation 80-90% compared to the already low exposure of traditional dental X-rays.
- Oral Cancer ScreeningOral cancer screening: Check the face, neck, lips, tongue, throat, tissues, and gums for any signs of oral cancer.
- Teeth CleaningBrushing and flossing are of paramount importance to oral hygiene. Though bi-annual professional dental cleanings remove plaque, tartar, and debris, excellent homecare methods are equally valuable. Proper brushing and flossing can enhance the health of the mouth, make the smile sparkle, and prevent serious diseases.
- Fluoride TreatmentJust because your over 21 years of age, it does not mean you don’t need a fluoride treatment. Since I’ve been getting them every other visit, cavities have not been showing up. Be proactive! Spend money on your teeth, too, because it will pay off in the end!
- Dental SealantsA sealant is a thin, plastic coating applied to the chewing surface of molars, premolars and any deep grooves (called pits and fissures) of teeth. More than 75% of dental decay begins in these deep grooves. Teeth with these conditions are hard to clean and are very susceptible to decay. A sealant protects the tooth by sealing deep grooves, creating a smooth, easy to clean surface.
- FillingsAlthough studies indicate that there are no measurable health risks to patients who have silver fillings, we do know that mercury is a toxic material when we are exposed at high, unsafe levels. For instance, we have been warned to limit the consumption of certain types of fish that carry high levels of mercury in them. However, with respect to amalgam fillings, the ADA maintains that when the mercury combines with the other components of the filling, it becomes an inactive substance that is safe.
- Resin CompositeInlays/Onlays - These restorations are custom made fillings. They can be made of composite resin, porcelain or gold and are made by a dental laboratory and placed by a dentist. Inlays/onlays are usually best for the posterior chewing surfaces of teeth and are utilized to conservatively repair teeth that have large defective/unattractive fillings or have been damaged by decay or trauma.
- VeneersBased on the strong recommendation of a family member, I scheduled a special trip (traveling from Maryland) to have a veneer placed over one of my front teeth. I couldn’t have been more pleased with the results! (this dentist really is an artist) Not to mention the fact that it took practically no time at all to do – just one short visit (compared to what would have taken at least two visits here ) – and a far more affordable price. I can’t recommend this practice highly enough. Thanks again!
- CrownsI am a dental coward. Needed a crown replaced. Very patient with my anxiety. Procedure was painless. Was seen promptly. Facilities were beyond clean. Chair seemed to be exceptionally comfortable. Ear phones to listen to music were offered. All in all, a good experience
- BridgesFixed bridges - This type of bridge is generally made of porcelain or composite material and is anchored (cemented) permanently to a natural teeth adjacent to the missing tooth site. The benefit of this type of bridge is that it is fixed (not removable) and it is very sturdy. The disadvantage is that in order to create a fixed appliance, two healthy, natural teeth will have to be crowned (capped) to hold the bridge in place.

- Restorative DentistryOur wide range of service offerings includes advanced restorations for patients who are dealing with multiple and complex dental problems, such as missing teeth, decay, teeth infections, and periodontal disease. With restorative dentistry in Dracut, patients get access to solutions that help to restore biting and chewing power, while increasing overall health and quality of life. We are even able to perform more complex procedures such as root canals and advanced gum disease treatments in-office.
- Root Canal TreatmentFirst time there the hygienist was wonderful and the dentist I couldn't say anything bad about them can't wait to go back and get my root canals never thought I'd say that
- Deep CleaningIf, after the initial exam, we discover the presence of gum disease, our hygienist will recommend that you schedule an appointment for deep cleaning at our Dracut practice. This straightforward procedure consists of two primary components: dental scaling and root planning. The object of dental scaling is to remove plaque and tartar from your teeth’s surface and beneath the gum line using ultrasonic tools. For root planing, we smooth and straighten the tooth’s roots to ensure healthy, secure attachment to the gums.
- Dentures– Brush at least twice a day with an ADA approved fluoride toothpaste and toothbrush. Floss daily to remove food debris and plaque from in between the teeth and under the gumline. Brush or use a tongue scraper to clean the tongue and reach the back areas. Replace your toothbrush every 2 to 3 months. If you wear dentures or removable bridges, clean them thoroughly and place them back in your mouth in the morning.
- Dental ImplantsAdvanced Options For treatment beyond dental scaling and root planing, Amerident Dental enlists the help of periodontist Dr. Danika Crabtree to perform complex procedures, including gingivectomies and preparatory work in advance of dental implant placement. If you’re not satisfied with the aesthetics of your gums or the way your teeth appear in your smile, we also offer cosmetic procedures to lengthen your gums and improve their contour.
- Oral SurgeryAfter a few years working with Oral Surgery at Boston Medical Center, Dr. Alphonse attended Boston University’s Henry M Goldman School of Dental Medicine, earning his Doctorate in Dental Medicine.
- Flap SurgeryPocket elimination surgery – The dentist may choose to perform “flap surgery” to directly reduce the size of the gum pockets.
- Tooth ExtractionsIf you are experiencing extreme sensitivity or are suffering from advanced periodontal disease, you may be required to have a tooth extracted. With a simple extraction, the dentist can safely remove the affected tooth without the need for major surgery.
- Bone GraftingTissue & bone grafting – Where a considerable amount of bone or gum tissue has been destroyed, the dentist may elect to graft new tissue by inserting a membrane to stimulate tissue growth.
- OrthodonticsLess visible and more effective brackets and wires are making straightening teeth with orthodontics much more appealing to adult patients. Also, in some cases, teeth may be straightened with custom-made, clear, removable aligners that require no braces.
- BracesTeeth can be straightened using either orthodontic braces or customized aligning trays. Orthodontic braces are usually affixed to the teeth for a set duration. The brackets and archwires are tightened regularly by the orthodontist and removed when treatment is complete. Fixed braces can be placed on the front side or back side of the teeth and are effective for most types of malocclusion.
- Teeth WhiteningBleaching lightens teeth that have been stained or discolored by age, food, drink, and smoking. Teeth darkened as a result of injury or taking certain medications can also be bleached, but the effectiveness depends on the degree of staining present.
- Cosmetic DentistryCosmetic dentistry has become very popular in the last several years, not only due to the many advances in cosmetic dental procedures and materials available today, but also because patients are becoming more and more focused on improving their overall health. This includes dental prevention and having a healthier, whiter, more radiant smile.
