Be VERY weary of any property owned / managed by Claritas Property Management. Current issues on a property in the Western Suburbs include the following: 1) $250 a month rent increase, even for long time tenants of 10 or more years who pay in a timely manner and use Claritas' preferred online payment portal. This increase was instituted while Claritas has not even managed the building for a full year. 2) Lack of communication to tenants of a general nature. Example - construction workers upgrading apartments within the building working from 8am - 7pm, 7 days a week, using equipment that makes heavy noise and causes dust, dirt, and building movement. 3) Maintenance requests ignored. Their contractor is instructed to work 1 day a week and fix ALL the tenants issue at that time to reduce the cost Claritas pays the contractor out of pocket. If you have a sink or toilet that needs to be fixed, can you really go a week, or MORE, without it? 4) Little to zero landscaping work, including iced over sidewalks that are not salted or shoveled.
