Founded in 1995, Advocate Health Care is a nonprofit organization of physicians and health care professionals that serve individuals, families and communities in northern Illinois. It is one of the largest health care delivery systems in Chicago. The organization operates more than five hospitals with over 3,400 beds and a home health care company. Advocate Health Care has a staff of nearly 24,500 people. It operates Christ Medical Center and Lutheran General Hospital. Advocate Health Care offers services in the areas of asthma management, breast health and clinical education. It provides occupational health, wellness, financial assistance and clinical pastoral education solutions. The organization is affiliated with the University of Illinois at Chicago Health Sciences Center.
