West Georgia Technical College, also known as WGTC, is a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia. It provides a range of educational opportunities for students in Carroll, Coweta, Douglas, Haralson, Heard, Meriwether and Troup counties in Georgia. The college offers certificate, diploma and degree courses and programs. West Georgia Technical College s academic courses include accounting, marketing management, criminal justice, dental hygiene, radiologic technology, practical nursing, cosmetology and culinary arts. It also provides educational programs in surgical technology, business administration, radiography and welding. The college organizes various athletic activities, such as volleyball, basketball and cheerleading. West Georgia Technical College has a student leadership council. In addition, it operates a medical assisting club. The college offers membership opportunities in the National Technical Honor Society. West Georgia Technical College also provides the BetterReader program.
