The Douglas County Sheriff s office is a full-service law enforcement activity with headquarters in Douglasville, Ga. The sheriff s office also provides law enforcement service for the city of Lithia Springs, Ga., which is in east Douglas County. It operates a precinct office in the area that is staffed five days a week for 12 hours per day. As the Douglas County Fire Department builds additional fire stations, the sheriff's office plans to include an office in each new station. It has unstaffed offices at Station No.2 in Winston, Ga., and one in Beulah, Ga. The sheriff's office holds an annual auction of seized and condemned property. Most of the property is seized as a result of drug investigations. Items may range from gold to very expensive vehicles.
