- Dental ExaminationOur doctors encourage proactive dental care by recommending all patients schedule six-month exams and cleanings. These preventive visits allow early diagnosis of small oral health problems, so they can be treated sooner rather than later.
- X-rays
- Oral Cancer ScreeningAt your checkup, we will take the necessary digital X-rays. Digital X-rays immediately provide detailed images, viewable on a computer screen. They show pictures of the teeth, bone and surrounding tissues. They will help our doctors diagnose decay, infection and periodontal disease. We may also take digital photos with our intraoral camera. Our doctors will do an oral cancer screening and look for anything that looks suspicious. An assessment of your gum tissue will tell us if you suffer from periodontal disease. This condition often goes untreated, but is proven to increase a person’s risk for many health problems including heart attack, stroke, diabetes complications, and low-weight births. Our hygienist will recommend prompt and effective treatment if you suffer from periodontal disease. It is a disease that can be controlled with proper treatment.
- Teeth Cleaning
- Fluoride TreatmentMost children have a full set of 20 primary teeth by the time they are 3 years old. A child’s first dental visit is recommended at age 3. At age 6, when children typically begin to lose their primary teeth, a panoramic x-ray is recommended to check the development of permanent teeth. The first permanent molars usually erupt between ages 5 and 6. To help prevent decay, dental sealants are placed on all newly erupted and cavity free permanent teeth as your child grows. Six month cleanings and fluoride treatments are highly encouraged. Family members can also help out by enforcing good homecare with regular brushing and flossing.
- Dental Sealants
- FillingsOur doctors offer Amalgam (silver) or Composite (tooth colored) fillings. Amalgam fillings have been a safe restorative option used for over 150 years due to low cost, ease of application, strength and durability. Composite fillings have been used and proven to be durable for over 30 years. They also can match the color of your tooth to make them appear more natural.
- CrownsSome dental problems may require more than a filling. In some cases, a dental crown or cap is required to protect and strengthen tooth structure in a way that cannot be restored by a filling.
- Bridges
- Root Canal Treatment
- DenturesPartial Dentures – A removable partial denture replaces multiple missing teeth in either the upper or lower arch. The reason this type of prosthesis is referred to as a removable partial denture is because the patient can remove and re-insert it when required without professional help.
- Dental ImplantsDental implants work well for people who have good oral health and sufficient bone density. Because missing teeth promote bone degeneration, some patients need bone grafting before implant surgery. Our doctors will assess your case and consult with your oral surgeon or periodontist to plan treatment. Together, they will present you with your options and explain the procedure.
- Oral SurgeryImplants are a new and innovative way to replace one or more missing teeth. Since our doctors are general dentists, they partner with specialists for all dental implant cases. Dental implants are small, titanium posts placed into the jaw. The procedure requires a brief oral surgery visit, which is performed by a local specialist. Once the posts are in place, bone tissue naturally integrates with them to form a solid anchor just like a natural tooth’s root. After the implant post has healed and firmly integrated with the bone, our doctors will make individual crowns, a bridge or a denture to attach to your implant posts.
