- New Center Community Services offers mental health services to adults who have severe mental illness and children with serious emotional disturbance. We focus on improving the lives of consumers, raising awareness of mental health issues in the community and offering comprehensive programs and services. We also facilitate access to community resources for housing, employment and other important services. - Medicaid Expansion New Center Community Services is a recognized Community Partner of the State of Michigan, providing assistance to uninsured consumers with signing up for health insurance entitlements. We have trained staff members assisting consumers one-on-one to complete Medicaid applications under the newly expanded Healthy Michigan program. The following is a list of required documents needed for Medicaid applications: Proof of Citizenship or Immigration Status/Legal Residence SSN, passport, immigration document status number Status of Residency (drivers license or utility bill) Income for all family members in one household (W-2 forms, paystubs, or proof of employment) Current Health Insurance (Policy number for any current health insurance, including Medicaid and Medicare)
General Info
New Center Community Services is a private, nonprofit, community mental health agency with six locations in Detroit and Highland Park, MI. New Centers interdisciplinary staff including psychiatrists, social workers, nurses, psychologists, therapists and educators provides a wide range of comprehensive mental health services to over 4,500 clients annually. New Center professionals also work with residents, businesses and community agencies to improve and enrich neighborhood life and provide informational programs to increase awareness of mental health issues. In each of its locations, New Center plays a positive role in neighborhood revitalization and works to improve the quality of community life.
