Cody High School is a part of the Detroit Public School District, which operates several elementary, middle, high, and special and alternative education schools. The school offers various honors and pre-engineering drafting classes. Cody High School provides female mentoring, Boys to Men mentoring and distance learning programs. Its extracurricular activities include band, choir ensemble and dance. The school offers advanced placement classes in calculus, biology and studio art. Cody High School additionally provides after-school tutorial programs for students in grades 9 through 12. Its interscholastic sports teams include basketball, football, baseball, softball, volleyball, cheerleading, cross country, track, tennis, golf, swimming and soccer.
