Mahube Community Council, located in Detroit Lakes, Minn., provides services for low income and elderly persons living in Mahnomen, Hubbard and Becker counties. It is a private, nonprofit corporation governed by a volunteer board of directors representing the low-income, public and private sectors of the community. Mahube Community Council provides a wide range of services, including family development programs, child care resource and referral, child passenger resource center, energy assistance program, weatherization, relative caregiver program, and community partners. It also provides retired and senior volunteer program that helps individuals above 55-years. More than 450,000 seniors throughout the United States participate in its retired and senior volunteer program program. Mahube Community Council also has offices in Park Rapids and Mahnomen, Minn.
