  Today’s fuel injection systems are more prone to clogging due to design, higher pressure and higher demands for fuel efficiency. Because fuels contain small amounts of ethanol they attract water, which wasn’t a problem a few decades ago. Also because of new design GDI systems (direct injection) fuel sprayed into cylinders no longer cleans valves (before GDI they used to). Some manufacturers recommend adding cleaning chemicals to fuel regularly. Dirty fuel injectors cause lost fuel economy and lost power. Cleaning fuel systems will improve power, acceleration and fuel economy, all while at the same time lowering emissions.
