General Info
I am Megan! This is my brainchild. You'll find information here about me and my practice: My services include Birth Doula care, Lactation Consultation, Massage Therapy, Aromatherapy, Infant Massage Instructor, and Assistance with Child Loss. I also maintain a blog about evidence-based concepts around child birth, lactation, parenting, and education. I'm glad that you've found me and I look forward to meeting you! I grew up in Huntsville, Alabama. I moved to Denver in the summer of 2008 after spending a summer traveling around and looking for my niche! I came to visit for three weeks and fell in love with Colorado! I had my license transferred and never left! I met my husband 18 months later and the rest is history! We have a beautiful son, Malakhi, that is the light of our life! I love Colorado! Such beauty here! I have a bachelor's degree in Biology and a minor in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. I have focused my education on human biology, microbial biology, women's health, infant/maternal nutrition, and anthropology. I enjoy using my knowledge and experience to educate! I am a certified Birth Doula, Lactation Consultant, Massage therapist, and CNA. I am a trained Aromatherapist and love incorporating these and other natural products into my practice! I also studied cultural anthropology and its relationship to child rearing practices. I believe in an anthropological approach to child rearing and incorporating that into our modern lives. What does this mean? I believe that our society has taken us away from what is natural and away from what is instinctual. When mothers and families are allowed and encouraged to trust their instincts and do what feels right, we have happier healthier and calmer children. Basically, I'm an attachment parenting advocate.
