The Gilliam Youth Services Center is one of the detention facilities operated by the Division of Youth Corrections, which is administered by the Colorado Department of Human Services. The division is responsible for protecting, restoring and improving public safety. It offers offense-specific treatment, social development, and drug and alcohol intervention solutions. The Division of Youth Corrections provides academic and vocational education, as well as medical and dental care programs. In addition, the division offers pastoral care, sexual abuse treatment, and psychological and psychiatric services. It provides counseling programs for individuals, groups and families. The Division of Youth Corrections also offers victim awareness and empathy education programs.
