Renters of tax credit apartments, generally, and this property, in particular, should beware. Newness counts for nothing, unless the investors and their management companies (in this case, Archdiocesan Housing, Inc.) invest in maintaining and securing the property, approving reasonable accommodations in a timely manner and ensuring everyone in a development is treated fairly. Broadway Junction is not well maintained, in spite of excellent staff. Budgetary considerations (we're a non-profit) prevent management from keeping this property clean! To pass an inspection, AHI had the carpets on one floor cleaned, leaving the other floors covered in stained, filthy, smelly carpeting. There are no security measures, other than a security (linear access) entry and the occasional presence of a 'courtesy patrol.' There is no access to neighboring amenities. Paperwork for reasonable accommodation is daunting and processed slowly. This is not fair housing.
