The Denton County Jail is a 1000-plus-bed facility that is under the supervision of the Jail Administrator. The jail consists of a pre-trial facility and a linear-style and direct supervision jail. The Denton County Jail staff is responsible for the preservation of the basic human rights and dignity of the inmate population as prescribed by the Constitution of the Unites States and the Texas Commission on Jail Standards. It operates programs for to encourage and foster self-respect and dignity for inmates. The Denton County Jail employs more than 350 staff members from the sheriff s office, including captains, lieutenants, sergeants and corporals. The jail is located in Denton, Texas.
